Tips to Keep Up with your Workout
October 2011
So you have made the decision to lose weight and get healthy. How do you keep your workouts from falling by the wayside? Follow these five steps to keep you going.
- Do what you love. Los Angeles has a plethora of workout classes or activities to choose from. Whether you are adventurous enough to try a pole dancing class, you like to shake it up and dance at Zumba, or you need to push yourself with some hard core yoga, you will find what you are looking for. Try new classes and activities and don’t be afraid to switch it up!
- Find support at your weight loss center in Los Angeles. Join others on their weight loss journey and learn from those who have had success with the help of your local weight loss center.
- Get motivation through an outside source. Find a friend to go jogging with you every morning, or hire a personal trainer. By deflecting a bit of the motivation to work out to a responsibility to meet someone, you may be more likely to keep up with your regular workout schedule. Adding another person into the mix makes it harder to skip that day’s work out when someone else is waiting for you. Not to mention that a personal trainer can help you reach those weight loss goals and tone your problem areas with exercises that are tailored for your needs.
- Make a schedule. Creating a workout schedule and adding it to your calendar makes your goal to lose weight a reality. If you just tell yourself you are going to work out sometime during the day it is too easy to let the day slip by and not work out.
- Get enough rest. To really get the most out of your work out you need to push hard. Skimping on sleep the night before is not going help you do that. A well-rested body will perform better.
